Exhibitions photos
The Selsey Society was formed in April 1987 with one of its main aims to provide monthly meetings relating to Selsey’s past. But gradually Tom Creedy started gathering information and photographs relating to various aspects of Selsey history and in 1994 he, with other society members, created a booklet and an exhibition entitled ‘Selsey and the D-Day story’.
In the years that followed a variety of exhibitions were put on in Selsey, including several commemorating the world wars, while others covered the coronation of George VI, Selsey schools, railway carriage ‘bungalows’ and lifeboats. Tom Creedy produced many of them, but other creators were Bob Holcombe, Marilyn Smith and Ruth Mariner, assisted by Society members.
